A thousand square metres of headland, kept for guests
An open headland reserve adjoins the resort, made available for the enjoyment of Pandanus Palms guests by the Quandamooka People. It is not a public lookout, and it is open to you twenty-four hours a day.
01 / What it is
A quieter alternative to the public lookouts
The reserve spans roughly 1,000 square metres on one of Point Lookout's most striking coastal vantage points, with uninterrupted views across the Coral Sea and the Pacific. Because it is available only to resort guests, it stays quiet when the public lookouts do not.
Bring a picnic blanket, a grazing platter made in your villa, a bottle of wine or a morning coffee. There is no booking and no time limit.
02 / What you may see
The wildlife you will share the headland with
Frequently seen grazing nearby, most often around sunset.
Curlews wander quietly through the reserve; kookaburras announce themselves.
Often seen soaring above the coastline, scanning the water below.
Regularly play offshore, close enough to watch without binoculars.
Pass along the horizon through whale season, June to October.
The reason to come back at a different hour. The water changes colour all afternoon.
