Pandanus Palms is managed from the resort itself, not by a remote agency or a call centre. Reception is in the grounds, so checking in, asking what is worth doing on the island, or getting something sorted means speaking to someone who is on the property.

Open seven days. Monday to Friday 9.00am to 4.00pm, Saturday and Sunday 9.00am to 12.00pm.
A tour desk
Island tours and activities can be booked at reception once you arrive, instead of before you know what the weather is doing.

Pandanus Palms Resort is thirty self-contained two and three bedroom villas at Point Lookout, North Stradbroke Island. Every villa is a complete home, with a balcony aimed squarely at Moreton Island and the Coral Sea.
The villas are individually owned, so each one has its own character. Contemporary renovations sit alongside classic beachside charm. Choose the one that suits your family and your budget. The outlook is the same from all of them.

Sun lounges and umbrellas on the lawn, with the water in view from the deck.
One court for both, and rackets and balls are provided.
03 / The headland reserve
A thousand square metres of headland, kept for guests
An open headland reserve adjoins the resort, made available for the enjoyment of Pandanus Palms guests by the Quandamooka People. It sits on one of Point Lookout's most striking coastal vantage points, with uninterrupted views across the Coral Sea and the Pacific.
It is open to guests twenty-four hours a day, which makes it a quiet alternative to the public lookouts. Bring a picnic blanket, a grazing platter made in your villa, a bottle of wine or your morning coffee.
04 / The island

A five minute drive, and a headland circuit above the water.
June to October, humpbacks pass between the Antarctic and the reef.
Surf, swimming and fishing, with the flags up through summer.

Three legs from Brisbane to your balcony
Every route runs through Toondah Harbour at Cleveland and lands at Dunwich, on the island’s western side. What changes is how you cross, and how you cover the last twenty two kilometres to Point Lookout. You can make the whole trip without a car.

Get to Toondah Harbour, Cleveland
About 30 km from the Brisbane CBD
Train, then the free shuttle
Take the Cleveland line from Central to Cleveland station. Both boat operators run a free shuttle from the station down to the harbour, timed to their sailings.
Drive to the harbour
Old Cleveland Road runs most of the way from the city out to the harbour. The simplest option if you are taking the car across on the ferry.
Flying in
Brisbane Airport is about 40 minutes from the harbour by road on the M1 with tolls. Without a car, take the Airtrain into Central and change to the Cleveland line.
Cross to Dunwich
25 to 50 minutes on the water
Stradbroke Flyer water taxi
Passengers only, landing at One Mile Jetty. Buy a ticket at the Cleveland office or on board. This is the boat the island bus is timed to meet.
SeaLink vehicle ferry
Carries your car across to the Junner Street terminal, and takes walk-on passengers too. Worth booking ahead in school holidays and through whale season.
Your own boat
There are ramps at One Mile in Dunwich and at Amity Point. You still have the island road to cover from either one.
Cross the island to Point Lookout
22 km, about 20 minutes
The island bus
Translink route 880 meets the water taxis at Dunwich and runs on through Amity Point to Point Lookout, roughly hourly through the day.
Transfers and taxis
Stradeasy runs transfers from both terminals to the door, and the Stradbroke Cab Service covers the island. Book either before you travel.
Drive yourself
One sealed road runs east across the island. Every villa has its own free undercover parking at the other end.
That is the whole trip. Reception is at 21 Cumming Parade, Point Lookout.
Times are a guide. The operators set their own timetables and fares, and both change with the season.
